The 2015 is going to be excellent year for Ford. They unveiled awesome super sport GT, aggressive and muscle Mustang GT350, amazing F-150 Raptor and upgraded Focus RS. Now the time has come for the Fiesta to experience some changes and receive more muscle and aggressive design. American automaker will not stop here and they are planning to introduce 12 new models by 2020 to its high performances lineup. Even though new Fiesta will not get new 2.3-liter EcoBoost or all-wheel drive but it will definitely be a really cool member of Ford’s new lineup of performance models. Let’s read more about it.
Engine and specs
Under the hood new Fiesta will have upgraded version of 197 horse power 1,6 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder which will be tuned to make around 246 hp. Don’t expect this car to be all-wheel drive and instead of that new RS will posses front wheel drive system with 6-speed transmission when the time comes. It will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5,9 seconds and its maximum speed will be up to 155 mph (250 km/h).
As we previously said new Fiesta RS will have more muscle and aggressive design and it will be built on Ford Global B platform, with three or five doors. It will have bigger trapezoidal grille, with some other aggressive elements such as apron inlets, redesigned side air dams and a spilter. It is expect that car will be build from carbon fiber parts which will definitely increase its speed. We might also see more aggressive side skirts and also special lightweight wheels. At the back expect massive roof spoiler and redesigned bumper with an integrated diffuser.
The interior of 2017 Ford Fiesta RS will have a lot of similarities with that at Focus. Also new cabin will be much larger and able to accommodate up to 5 passenger. It will have a lot of sports features and chrome details including Recaro sports seat, new sports leather steering wheel, revised shifter and alloy sports pedals. The central console will poses SYNC connectivity with an 8-inch touchscreen offered as a standard. We can also expect stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes and standard airbags.
