One of the cars from the Ford lineup that was able to catch everyone’s attention is the Fiesta. When the current version was unveiled, everyone noticed that the US car manufacturer borrowed one detail that was like a trademark of another car manufacturer – the Fiesta had practically the same grille that Aston Martin uses for all their models in last ten years. Now, as the US manufacturer prepares to unveil the successor – the 2016 Ford Fiesta, the grille has remained the same, but there will be some small, but significant changes that will the all-new Fiesta bring.
The 2016 Fiesta is a mid-cycle update, which basically means that Ford plans to include only smaller changes, while radical changes to the exterior and the interior can be expected with the next-generation Fiesta. This new model, features a grille in two tiers, newly redesigned front bumper, with integrated fog lights and brand new headlights (that come with integrated LED daytime running lights). The hatchback version will have more changes in the back than the sedan version, since it will get new bumper along with brand new taillights. The car looks more aggressive and sporty than any Fiesta before and according to the reports, Ford is actively working on bringing the all-new Fiesta RS to customers.
When it comes to the interior of the 2016 Ford Fiesta, there are going to be practically no changes, since the interior of the current model was something that customers liked. This means that the new Fiesta is going to have the same three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel (this time it is going to be in black and silver version in all Fiesta versions), large touch screen display in the center of the dashboard and analog speedometer and tachometer are going to remain the same. The best thing about the all-new Fiesta is that when you sit in it, you get the feeling like you were sitting in a more expensive car. The main reason for that is the great build quality and the high quality of the materials used for the cabin. Furthermore, Ford plans to offer premium sounds system even in the base version of the Fiesta (as an option), while the higher trim levels will have this sound system by default.
2016 Ford Fiesta engine and specs
The 2016 Ford Fiesta will come with lots of different engines that the customers will be able to choose from. The base engine is the 1.0l Duratec Ti-VCT (replaced the 1.25l) which produces 80 horsepower. Second engine is the 1.0l EcoBoost engine that produces up to 140 horsepower (depending on the version). The Fiesta RS version is going to have the most powerful 1.6l EcoBoost engine that produces 180 horsepower and it is going to be offered only with manual transmission, while the others will be available with both automatic and manual transmission.
